Introductory courses in philosophy are available without prerequisite. Upper level undergraduate courses typically require, at most, one previous course in philosophy. For some specialized courses in philosophy your major in a relevant field may allow you to meet the prerequisite. See the complete course listings for information about prerequisites.

Nearly all undergraduate courses in Philosophy can help students earn GEC credit which is needed by all undergraduates, whatever their field of study. See the undergraduate catalog or the University’s current schedule of courses for details.
